Role: Brand Launch, Strategy, Product Development, Creative Direction, Marketing, UI/UX
Building a brand on Savings, Simplicity, Safety, and Sustainability
The challenge was to develop a brand and refillable packaging to disrupt the cleaning marketplace while eliminating single-use plastic. I developed the brand strategy and crafted the brand story while also communicating the advantages of pod-based cleaning for sustainable home cleaning solution on a budget.
Strategies to build loyalty and trust with consumers and retailers started with some simple messaging. Refillable cleaning is easy, just add water.
An accelerated go-to-market
I developed an effortlessly memorable name and a colorful, vibrant identity. Leveraging my brand expression process allowed me to quickly develop efficient packaging and product photography. To prepare for a quick Spring Cleaning launch product sourcing, manufacture, and website development were completed in a few months.
A groundbreaking product needs a compelling brand story
Quick iteration led to a simplified messaging system for social marketing and assets for the retail sales team. Using bright colors, expressive scent names, and simple, fun illustrations, I developed a persona for the brand. Approachable, and easy to understand. Cleaning isn’t always fun, but a cleaning brand called Podsy should be.
Small Pods, Big Impact
The math behind our focus on efficiency is amazing. Our refills are 43 times more efficient than existing ready-to-use (32oz) competition. Weight, size, and impact to the environment are all significantly improved. As a startup, totals of our first 3 years from sales are pretty impressive.
